Very nice. A must discover, also the label, all in Polish but hey, that makes it even more exciting ;) Favorite track: Farika.

Olga Kivius Good news! The young polish label "For Tune" is on bandcamp now! I highly recommend to follow it: its releases are thematically wide - from contemporary, modern & free jazz to avant-garde, experimental, folk, classical and even hip-hop (!) music. It consisits of recordings by that great musicans as W.Zimpel, H.Zemler, R.Gorzycki, brothers Oleś, M.Obara, Bester Quartet, M.Masecki, M.Halvorson, Ches Smith, M.Vitous, W.Parker as well as debuts of very promising young musicans like this one )) Favorite track: The Rain.

about

Franciszek Raczkowski – piano
Paweł Wszołek – double bass
Piotr Budniak – drums

Ever since I discovered information to the effect that Francziszek Raczkowski is inspired by Michel Wintsch and Keith Jarrett, it's been easier for me to understand where such meticulousness in his music comes from. This knowledge doesn't alter my perception of his creativity and, all the more, doesn't bear on my reception of this album, but it serves as an excellent point of entry for seeking an answer to the more important question of what it is that makes Franciszek Raczkowski exceptional. Indeed, associations with Jarrett do occur while listening to his debut album, but by no means can one state unequivocally that the music of our young composer is saturated with that great artist's conception. Perceptible in it with equal clarity are some remarkably intriguing explorations, which lean in the direction of contemporary European improvised music. Paradoxically, when simply following the beautiful melodies, without a need for aurally dissecting the details of this improvisation, we discover that this melodiousness is precisely where the true strength and originality of the individual compositions lies. (Piotr Bielawski)
