about

Tomasz Dąbrowski - trumpet, mutes
Nils Bo Davidsen - double bass
Anders Mogensen – drums

Tomasz Dąbrowski chose a trio setup when assembling his first band a few years ago. It is much easier for a musician to “hide” in a quartet or a quintet, not to mention larger ensembles, whereas duos – regardless of how much I adore them – always have something technical about them. A trio is like a lover, it evokes extreme emotions, from hate to love, and compels complete exposure. (…) Anders Mogensen, Nils Bo Davidsen and leader - Tomasz Dąbrowski have reached as a trio a statf comprehension equivalent to satori in Zen Buddhism; they have overcome the obstacle of separate individualities and blended into a single instrument. In such music making, melody and rhythm only serveas a framework; it is the depth and quality of the mutual playing that should be admired. I feel this dimension is notably present in Tom Trio’s music, making one listen to it over and over again, each time discovering something new – in the music and in oneself.
