The Intuition Orchestra takes us into their kaleidoscopic world, presenting a multifaceted 44-minute suite that it's difficult to compare with anything else. The group's strength lies in its blending of many musical genres into a coherent whole – jazz, classical, electronic music and elements of avant-garde, with distinct inspirations from world music. Despite the fact that, in the case of The Intuition Orchestra, the process of composing pieces is always based on group improvisation, its results are something completely different from that which other free-playing groups have accustomed us to. This is because the music of The Intuition attains a brilliant continuum, full of melody, rhythms and stylistic references. The group's steady line-up is enhanced by two young female vocalists, whose voices are treated here like instruments, with a broad palette of expressive resources, and the incredible “recorderist” Dominik Strycharski, who gets a truly “cosmic” sound when he combines his wooden instruments with such cerebral machinery. “Case of Surprise” is an album for all who enjoy being surprised by music.
