Ksawery Wójciński - double bass, pocket trumpet

Leader - Ray Dickaty wrote in the booklet to the board the following: In existence for two years on the Warsaw improvised music scene, the bandhas now crystallized into a five piece and in the spring of 2013 they recorded this, first album, “New Ghosts”, the title being a direct reference to Albert Ayler, his music and spirit. IJQ has an extraordinary power with two independent lines of rhythm, strong bass and two intertwining saxophones, simultaneously abstract and yet strong with melodic invention. The band creates a sound that consciously evokes the classic spirit of collective improvisation.
