This album is a journey through both space and time. The sound of exotic instruments and scales puts one into a mood of detachment from all predetermined notions concerning music, to which we've become accustomed. This detachment allows for a journey through time, to encounter the forgotten and newly reconstructed sounds of Old Polish instruments. In this meeting of the African continent with the Mazovian Lowlands, we hear a presentation of Polish-Senegalese improvisations, compositions, and aesthetic experiments based on traditional Polish music, as well as African hymns and rhythms sung for centuries. Thus, this work creates new artistic values – in terms of both its sound, and aesthetics.
